Zela..I have to disagree with you..dave made a good point about the "muslim burial"..these people broke every religious sacrement in the muslim religion..yet the US is trying to "do the right thing"...i say let the people decide..after all..it is their religion..their country..as far as cow towing..yeah..we do that to make people happy..haha..i really dont understand..the people wanted to be free of sadaam..yet now they are..and now decide to kill US and coliation forces..we will never understand things we arent meant to..things are with held from us..things are with held from your country too Zela..we will never know everything that went on..or will go on..all we can do are live our lives..from day to day...NOW..my original question was..Was it right for the AMERICAN public to be allowed to see these photos?????..anyone??

The world needed to have these pictures shown to them.. This is to show the sceptics that Allied forces in Iraq ARE Acheiving there objectives... These Objectives are to remove the Saddam regime from Iraq and free the Iraqi people. These 2 pics are the start of showing the Iraqi people and the world that they are becomeing free from this regime.

Thought I'd pop in and see whats up over here as Chloe and Co have been over to mine

Well, this is a humdinger of a question!

Of course, there is only one answer - YES the American public (and us Brits too for that matter) should see exactly this kind of thing - not these pictures necessarily, but images of war.

There is, in my opinion, no real sense of what war is all about, and many people are kind of gung ho about 'lets go and bomb whoever-it-is-today-istan back to the stone ages, without really realising what that means in real terms.

Take those images of the Husseins, and multiply by something like the 10,000 estimated Iraqi casualties of the war and you start to get the picture. Then think about the guy who lives down the road from you who went off to join the military, barely 18 years old, seeing all this first hand, maybe causing it to happen....not something anyone could enjoy. Why should we send our kids off into this kind of hell and not 'suffer' these images with them?

You're all missing the main point here, Seeing is believing. Over here in the states we will outcast you based upon your color. But since the whole 9/11 fiasco we've set our sights upon the Arab nations. We don't look at them as seperate beings, we see their skin color and mix them all into one being. So when we are told that Saddam's son's have been killed we don't believe it right away. We haven't seen it. What's to say you didn't just shoot two other Iraqi's because you can't tell one from the other thanks to a biased view point? So here's the pictures, see for you yourself. Does the evidence presented to you now make you a believer of the facts? We needed to see simply so that we could believe. I mean hell, how many times have we killed Saddam himself now?

I doubt any westerner is able to identify the sons of saddam, so the whole showing of pictures is just.. complete overkill in an attempt to gain public attention.
